Electric tractor alternative

Looking for an Electric Tractor? Meet the Electric Compact Loader.

Most people shopping for an electric tractor want one machine to load, lift, carry, clear snow and dig. That is exactly what a Nesher does. It is a 100% electric compact wheel loader with all-wheel drive, joystick controls and attachments that swap in minutes — and it charges from a regular 120 V outlet.

The jobs you'd buy a tractor for

One machine and a handful of attachments cover most of the work around a farm, an acreage or a job site. Attachment availability varies by model.

Move material

Gravel, soil, mulch, snow. The general bucket is included with every loader.

Lift and carry pallets

Pallet forks handle pallets, lumber and building materials.

Clear snow

Add the snow plow to keep lanes, driveways and yards open all winter.

Drill post holes

The auger makes quick work of fence lines and footings.

Dig and trench

The digger arm handles drainage, trenching and small excavation jobs.

Handle logs and brush

A grapple or 4-in-1 bucket grabs logs, brush, rocks and awkward loads.

Why go electric

  • No diesel to buy, store or spill — it charges from any standard 120 V outlet.
  • Quiet enough to work near livestock, neighbours or indoors.
  • Zero exhaust, so it can work inside barns, arenas and warehouses.
  • Fewer moving parts and no oil changes mean far less maintenance.
  • All-wheel drive and a compact footprint for tight yards and trails.
  • Joystick controls that new operators pick up quickly.

Questions buyers ask first

Is a Nesher loader an electric tractor?

It does the jobs most people buy a compact tractor with a front-end loader for — loading, lifting, moving material, clearing snow and digging — but it is built as a compact wheel loader, with all-wheel drive, joystick controls and attachments you can swap in minutes. If you are shopping for an electric tractor mainly to run a bucket, pallet forks or a snow plow, a Nesher is the electric alternative.

What kind of outlet do I need to charge?

Any standard 120V outlet works — no special charging infrastructure required. A 240V supply charges faster; ask us about charger options for your model.

How long does a full charge last?

Plan on 4 to 6 hours of work per charge, depending on the load, the terrain and the temperature. For most owners that covers a full day of on-and-off use.

Can they handle Canadian winters?

Yes, with less run time. Like any battery, the pack delivers less energy in the cold, so plan for shorter work sessions in deep winter and store or charge the machine indoors when you can. The L1400 can be ordered with a heated cab and the L2500 includes one.

Are there tax credits for buying one?

Two federal measures apply. Any business can deduct 100% of the cost in the first year. Incorporated Canadian businesses may also be able to claim a refundable credit of up to 30% on a new electric loader. We have found no provincial purchase grant for off-road electric equipment as of October 2026. Our tax credit guide on the blog explains who can claim what; confirm with your accountant.
